The Effect of Trunk and Lower Extremity Circular Exercise Program on Balance and Gait in Community Chronic Stroke Patients
Kim Hee-Tak

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact on balance and walking ability by applying trunk and lower limb circular exercise programs to improve the quality and quality of life of people with chronic stroke living in the region and contribute to the promotion of various functional daily living activities. There were 20 study participants (male: 8, female: 12) and gait assessment using the GAITRite system and FRT, TUGT, and BBS before and after exercise. The statistical method applied the paired t-test and the significance level was set to .05. The FRT, TUGT, AND BBS items were more significant after exercise than before exercise (p<.05). Gait assessment was significant only in the stance time categories of velocity, stride length, swing time, and affected side (p<.05). There was no significant effect on the spatiotemporal items of walking (p>.05). In this study, a circular trunk and lower limb exercise program had a significant effect on gait and balance in chronic stroke patients, and is thought to be beneficial to community-based stroke patient treatment programs.
